Custom Designed EHouse Saves Time and Money

Sometimes a creative solution is needed for a unique problem.

At ElectriCON USA, we pride ourselves in designing and implementing custom solutions to our customer's unique situations. This was demonstrated on a recent project for an EHouse. ElectriCON USA was able to help this customer cut costs and lead times to stay both ahead of schedule and on budget.

The Challenge

The challenge was that large quantities of equipment needed to be housed in one location with an attached operator control room. For this much electrical and control equipment, we would typically recommend a custom interlocking-panel EHouse.  However, constructing this type of building for the project wasn't feasible. There was an accelerated schedule, and standard lead times of an interlocking-panel design would cause significant delays.

Due to the unique time constraints and space requirements, ElectriCON USA needed to engineer a unique solution.

The Solution

ElectriCON USA designed a solution that required two Conex style EHouses to be secured side-by-side. This gave our customer the room needed to accommodate the required electrical gear, and a larger, extended control room. Both EHouses shared a common doorway to connect the rooms inside. There were multiple reasons why this solution was the right choice for this customer.

The Benefits

The Conex Container design has lead time advantages due to a proprietary fabrication process. The modular aspect of an ElectriCON USA Conex also allowed for flexibility in the design. This gave us the ability to connect the two buildings into one larger EHouse.

The engineering team was able to make a cost-effective solution, eliminating the need for separate transformers, switchboards, and control cabinets. This effectively doubled the size of the control room, and gave direct access to the expanded EHouse.

The Results

This project was a big win for our customer due to the creative approach our team took when designing and building out this project. The time and cost savings led to a successful implementation and stronger relationship moving forward.
